I took the girls ice skating on Monday, which was something they had been wanting to do for a very long time. I wasn’t sure what they would think of it, but I really didn’t need to worry about that.
Maggie stayed by my side for about 3 seconds before deciding that she’d rather go off on her own. She didn’t care about falling, she just loved going fast. And she went really fast.
Katie was a little more cautious, but still preferred to do it on her own after once around the rink. Despite the fact that she was not incredibly solid on her skates, she couldn’t resist attempting to do some spins. And she did it– they were slow, but she managed to get all the way around without falling.
The biggest question is when will we go again? Katie has declared Saturday is ice skating day from now on. We’ll see.
