The girls are currently in the kitchen, eating lunch and playing Uno. They aren’t completely clear on all the rules, but they are trying their best. And they are having fun, which is really what matters, right?
Each of them is fiercely protecting her cards so that the other one doesn’t see them. There are calls of “No peeking!” and “Are you cheating?” coming every once in a while, but thankfully not so often that I need to intervene. Their card protection stops immediately, though, whenever one of them–usually Katie– has a question. Maggie will remind her what a card means and if Katie is stumped, Maggie will ask what she has and then determine what she can play or that she has to draw from the deck. I love that they are playing to win but still remembering that they are sisters who help each other.
