We attempted to ring in the new year for the girls by toasting to the London New Year Celebrationi. But, we couldn’t find it on TV. So we toasted with sparkling grape soda and tried to explain the new year thing as best we could without visual aids. It didn’t go so well, but they enjoyed the toasting. (although both girls wanted to know where their warmed & browned bread was).
Maggie woke up around 11pm because of the fireworks that a neighbor was setting off. It seemed that something was popping or banging every 15 seconds. We made several attempts to get her back to sleep, but in the end, she watched the ball drop with us and got to make some happy new year calls with me.
