I took the girls to the dr today because Maggie’s cough was holding on for long enough for me to want a professional to say it was just a virus, and cough medicine was the way to go. Yeah, that didn’t happen. I left with a breathing treatment machine and 5 scripts for the girls, and instructions to use the liquid albuterol I already have for Katie at home. Not at all what I was expecting.
We did a treatment in the office and Maggie was incredibly freaked out by it. I mentioned that she might have to do one at school and she cried… she thought the other kids would make fun of her. So I explained that she doesn’t do it in the class, she goes up to the front desk with Miss Dee and does it there and gets to look at magazines. And I reminded her that miss Dee is really nice and she likes her alot. And I told her that she looked like a fire breathing dragon, which she liked.
So, I dropped the scripts off at the pharmacy and they told me that it was going to be about 30-45 minutes, so I figured I would go to dinner wirh MIL and come back. We were supposed to be going to a high school football game, but I decided that was not going to happen.
So on the way home, Stagg was going to pass us from his emergency job and I asked him to pick the stuff up. He called back a few minutes later to say that our insurance was on a hold, and wouldn’t cover any of it.
So I was immediately on the phone with the insurance people who told me I was active… but wait, this looks weird. Yeah, we’re active, but coverage is not currently effective. Bottom line was that we had to pay for all of it out of pocket and we hope that things get figured out over the weekend and we get reimbursed. Greeeaaat. So I ended up leaving one of the scrpits there. We needed 6 of the dealios to put in the machine, and it only came in boxes of 30… for $178. Yeah, I’ll be going to the dr tomorrow and asking if they might have samples. If not, I’ll suck it up and do it, and hope for the reimbursement.
