This week has been a whirlwind of kids coming through the door and playing.
Monday afternoon, Morgan was supposed to come over after dance class to play with Maggie, but Maggie has a bit of a cough and was completely wiped out after class. She had a huge tantrum, and I had to cancel the playdate because I didn’t think Maggie would be able to handle it.
Tuesday afternoon, Morgan came over after school, and Riley decided she wanted to come too. So, we had the 4 girls playing for a little while. Then Riley left to go to the doctor and Maggie, Morgan and Katie kept playing. We ate dinner and Riley came back because her brother had his first cub scout meeting. All kids not belonging to me were home by 7:30.
Riley was coming over Wednesday afternoon because her mom had a doctor’s appointment, so Addie came along as well. They all played very well together. It amazes me how little I need to interfere with them when they are playing nicely. Every once in a while, something will happen and need a little management, but the times when they want me nowhere around them is far greater than when they do.
Morgan came over yesterday afternoon, and Riley wanted to play, too. So we stayed here for about an hour after school, then we all traipsed over to Riley’s house and played in the backyard for a while.
This morning, I have two or three 2 year olds coming to play with Katie. It should be an interesting switch.
Writing about all the playdates has actually been more exhausting than having them.
