For the last week, Maggie has asked on a daily (and sometimes hourly) basis if it was Monday yet. And finally, Monday has come. Maggie has finally gotten her wish and has been allowed to start Pre K with her friends Morgan and Addie in her class. She has been excited for this moment all summer, and this morning was no exception. She really didn’t care that the rest of her family was with her, wishing her well and hoping that she would have a good day. She had her backpack, her classroom and her friends, and all was good.
Last night, we had a small moment where she got nervous, but I think it was more a funciton of being tired than anything else. She cried for a few minutes, and missed her friends that she went to school with last year, but by this morning, all she could think of was Pre-K. And, almost as importantly, that she was going to be eating breakfast with her friends at school and not at home with me.
