We packed quite a bit of excitement into this weekend. It was a fun time, and probably why we were all so tired yesterday.
Friday night was the neighborhood Easter Egg hunt. There was pizza for dinner and eggs all over the place. Unfortunately, the pizza party came first and the older kids did a little advance work on the eggs. In their haste to get as many eggs as they could, they also managed to break quite a few. So by the time the started the official hunt, there were very few eggs left to go around. Katie ended up with one in her basked (she had two, but we passed a friend who hadn’t found any, so I took one out of Katie’s basket and “hid” it in the bushes we were passing). Maggie found three, and then she “hid” one for Katie. Katie ened up with an orange ball and some candy, and Maggie got some candy and a dollar, so they were both very excited.
Saturday was Maggie and Morgan’s joint birthday party at Atlanta Swim & Scuba. Holy chaotic swimming experience! We had 14 kids in the pool and around 5 parents. With all the toys in there for them to play with, it made for a very busy pool. I think everyone had a great time.
And then there was Easter. After checking out what the Easter Bunny brought them, the girls hunted their eggs in the backyard, had some breakfast, completely gorged themseleves on candy and then we headed over to Donna and Matt’s house for a cookout and more egg hunting. They were smarted there– although there were seemingly hundreds of eggs for the kids to find, most of them were empty. Haley, Maggie and Katie couldn’t care less, they just liked the hunting part.
After most people left, the little ones had some fun running through the sprinkler together.
Some pictures are up in the gallery.
